Important Note about the Replay: Addressing the PCC’S Initial Success

During the live session (available above), at the 48:30 minute mark, when creating the PCC’s Initial Success at the beginning of Step 3, the output focused all suggestions on a school event kidnapping scenario. Normally one can expect a breadth of brainstorming options and ideas, it's really quite astounding when you see it.

So what happened? Ironically, the software did exactly what it was expected to do based on the information that was provided when I started Step 3. The issue stemmed from the initial creation of the PCC. Instead of simply identifying the character's general plan—kidnapping the girl—the software added a specific detail about the event occurring at a school. I even pointed this extra detail out at the 42-minute mark

Unfortunately for the demonstration, this overly specific detail had a significant downstream impact, causing subsequent outputs to narrow in scope and focus exclusively on that scenario. This type of focus is required as you develop your story. As part of the iterative process, you always make decisions and key in on specific details as you develop your stories, that is just part of the process. And the software is designed to do JUST THAT! It focuses only on the details that align with your vision as they become known, just as you would do if developing a story on your own.

Moving forward:
To address this overly specific insertion into the PCC's initial creation, we’ve already made and deployed some minor adjustments. Now, when initially creating the PCC, the software will define the initial plan in general terms only, such as the PCC’s plan is to "kidnap the girl" (namely what they do, not how they do it), unless the details are explicitly provided by the user. This change will ensure a broader range of unique ideas presented as you develop your stories.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this session and provided feedback. The iterative process is not only the key to creating great stories, but also the key to refining Story Studio Lab, and we’re thrilled to have you along for the journey!
